Receivables & Payables in Excel — Ageing & Reminders
Ankeshan's Receivables & Payables module shows you exactly who owes you and who you owe, right inside Excel — with ageing analysis, one-tap WhatsApp reminder drafts in Hindi or English, MSME 45-day payment tracking, and TDS on vendor payments handled correctly. It turns scattered ledgers into a clear collections and payments picture, so cash stops slipping through the cracks.
Ankeshan adds this inside the Excel you already use — nothing new to learn, nothing leaves your PC.
What it does
- Maintains customer ledgers with a running balance per customer — invoices, receipts, credit notes, and adjustments, with outstanding clearly shown.
- Maintains vendor ledgers the same way — bills, payments, debit notes, and days until due.
- Ages receivables and payables into 0–30, 31–60, 61–90, 91–180, and 180+ day buckets, per party and in total, with charts.
- Drafts WhatsApp follow-ups — pre-built templates in English, Hindi, and regional languages, auto-personalised with customer name, invoice, and amount, in Friendly / Firm / Final-notice tones, shared one-tap via
wa.me. Bulk-send to everyone overdue 30+, 60+, or 90+ days. - Sends email follow-ups with the same templates over SMTP.
- Flags MSME vendors — tag Udyam-registered vendors, track the 45-day payment rule under the MSMED Act, and alert as the deadline approaches or is breached, with interest calculated at 24% per annum if it is.
- Tracks TDS on payments — auto-deduction per IT Act sections (194C, 194I, 194J), so you avoid the 30% expense disallowance for missed TDS.
- Manages credit limits — per customer, with an optional block on new sales over the limit.
- Shows a payments calendar of upcoming dues and computes DSO, DPO, and the cash conversion cycle.
- Speeds up entry — bulk receipt entry with auto-allocation across invoices, printable statements of account, and optional three-way (PO/GRN/invoice) matching.
How it works in Excel
Ankeshan builds the Customer_Ledger and Vendor_Ledger automatically from your invoices, bills, receipts, and payments — you don't post them by hand. Each ledger carries a running balance and a days-overdue (or days-until-due) figure, which drives the ageing buckets and the dashboard.
When a customer is overdue, you pick a tone and language and Ankeshan fills a ready-to-send message with their name, invoice number, and amount — you tap to open WhatsApp and send. For vendors, it watches the MSME 45-day clock and your TDS obligations, so both the legal and cash-flow risks are visible before they bite. Everything runs locally, so your party balances and templates never leave your PC.
Who it's for
This module is for any business that sells on credit and buys from vendors — which is most Indian SMBs. It's especially useful if late payments are choking your cash flow, if you deal with MSME-registered vendors and must respect the 45-day rule (and the related Section 43B(h) disallowance), or if you deduct TDS on payments and can't afford to miss it. Owners who already chase payments over WhatsApp will find the drafted reminders a natural fit.
Good to know
- You send the reminders. Ankeshan drafts and personalises the message and opens WhatsApp; you tap send, so nothing goes out without you.
- MSME flagging depends on your tagging. Mark which vendors are Udyam-registered and Ankeshan tracks their 45-day clocks; it can't know their status otherwise.
- Three-way matching is optional. Turn it on for tighter control over vendor payments and fraud risk; leave it off to keep entry simple.
- Offline. Ledgers, templates, and calculations live in your workbook — no external CRM or collections service.
